Great companies, business leaders, and visionaries share a very similar characteristic; their actions are dictated by the "WHY" of their pursuits, not the how-to's. Their process toward success begins with a very simple concept...WHY! It has been said that one of the great attributes of visionary leaders is not that they have a vision but that their vision has them.
Every move you make, every action you take should be judged against a specific point of reference; does this action advance the WHY of my pursuit? If you are 100% focused on the WHY then the HOW and WHAT will reveal itself.
I remember 25 years ago, after I had written my first book, I was having breakfast with a gentleman who was talking to me about his future. He kept saying, "I don't know what I want to do." I eventually interrupted him and politely said, "Who cares what you want to do?" I told him the question he should be asking is, "What do you want your life to look like (the WHY of your life)? If you can figure out the WHY, what you do is immaterial. Who cares? You do whatever you have to do to get what you want."
I told him that basing life's decisions simply on what you want to do will only lead to discouragement. Understanding what your dreams are and pursuing them by whatever ethical & honest means possible will result in a life of significance.

Deciding WHY, leads to HOW, which results in WHAT.
